Podcast NYC: Odeo Overview - Part II
Part II of my Odeo overview. This time I focus on what's available for producers at this time. In short, there's not much available since you need to request special access to the "create" portion of the site. There are some features that you should know about though, including how to make sure your feeds are included in Odeo, how to get them into Odeo and what to do with them once your podcast feeds are present. I also talk about the plans that Odeo has for recording functionality within the system.

Hey Rob,
You were talking about Odeo at the NYC Podcasters Association, and how they are using Flash a lot... it peaked my curiosity, so I came by your site to find out more about Odeo (after noticing they're still in a closed beta on their website).
I really dug your two podcasts about their product. It makes me drool and want to see more. I checked out the screenshots, and think there's a lot going on here. It's all obvious if you've been paying attention to things like Flickr and MySpace... so I'm dying to find out how well Odeo's implementation works.
I noticed you weren't exactly heaping praise on the product, and wonder if you have any reservations... or if you're just responding to a product that hasn't had enough time to fully mature.
If there's any way you could pull a string to get me on the beta too, I'd appreciate it, and promise to give good feedback to the developers.
Steve,
I don't have any reservations about what they're doing with Odeo. It's early though and I don't want to rave until I see how it matures. It's good so far. Still a few bugs to iron out, but then it's still in beta. I'm sure they'll work out the kinks and get in some other features that haven't made it to the top of the priority list yet.
Rob
