Podcast NYC: Alley Cuts #35

Welcome back to Alley Cuts where we feature some of the best independent music around. Let me introduce you to a Chapel Hill, North Carolina based band called The Old Ceremony. Lead by talented singer/songwriter Django Haskins, the band features a cast of many talented musicians making what they call pop-noir style music. Give it a listen and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. The band is currently supporting their self titled debut CD. Show em some love and pick up a copy now! Head over to Flow to check out some video of The Old Ceremony in action.

Podcast NYC: Alley Cuts #34

Welcome back to the first Alley Cuts show of 2006. We're featuring the dreamy, moody music of Cecil Dreeme. The tracks that we're playing are off of their album Honey and Crocodile Tears. You can find out more about the band at http://www.cecildreeme.com or at http://www.myspace.com/cecildreeme.

Cecil Dreeme songs are often (but certainly not always) soft, as well as painstakingly discombobulated and bittersweet.
